Blume Quick Guide Feature

Background & Problem Statement

New users of the Blume Patient Portal often struggle to discover and use its key features — including appointment management, document access, image viewing, and study sharing. Without in-app guidance, patients may feel uncertain navigating the platform, leading to lower adoption, reduced engagement, and an increased volume of support requests.

This feature directly addresses that gap by embedding contextual help — called Quick Guides — throughout the Blume experience, giving users instant access to step-by-step guidance without leaving the app.

Feature Overview

The Quick Guides feature makes curated help articles and how-to content accessible directly within Blume. Instead of searching an external knowledge base, patients/users can browse and open guides from a dedicated section available across both the mobile app and web portal.

Key characteristics of the feature:

  • Available on both the Blume web portal and mobile app.
  • Accessible from a persistent entry point in the sidebar/navigation on every page.
  • Covers the most common patient workflows end-to-end.
  • Read-only content — guides do not affect patient data or study records.
  • Content is maintained and updated centrally; users always see the latest version.
  • No additional permissions or account tier required to access guides.

Available Quick Guides

The following guides are available in-app, covering the core Blume patient workflows:
